 Chapter 9. MUNICIPAL CIVIL INFRACTIONS

  § 9-10. Schedule of civil fines established.

  • A schedule of civil fines payable to the bureau for admissions of responsibility by persons served with municipal ordinance violation notices is hereby established. The fines for the violations listed in this subsection shall be as follows:

    (a)  Chapter 4 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Animals. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $50.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (b)  Chapter 6 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Buildings and Building Regulations. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $50.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (c)  Chapter 8 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Cemetery. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $50.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (d)  Chapter 12 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Emergency Services. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $50.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (e)  Chapter 14 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Environment. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $50.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (f)  Chapter 16 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Fire Prevention and Protection. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $50.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (g)  Chapter 28 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Parks and Recreation. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $50.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (h)  Chapter 34 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Solid Waste. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $50.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (i)  Chapter 42 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Traffic and Vehicles. A civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $15.00, and not less than $100.00 for a handicapped parking violation, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.
    (j)  Chapter 46 of the Village of Romeo Code of Ordinances Zoning. The civil fine for a violation shall be not less than $100.00, nor more than $500.00, for the first offense, and not less than $500.00, nor more than $1,000.00, for subsequent offenses, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance for each infraction.

     

    Except as otherwise provided in this article or any other applicable ordinance, the fine for any offense for which a violation is a first repeat offense shall be not less than $100.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance.

    Except as otherwise provided in this article or any other applicable ordinance, the fine for any offense for which a violation is a second repeat offense, or any subsequent repeat offense, shall be not less than $250.00, plus costs and other sanctions allowed by law or ordinance.

    A copy of the schedule, as from time to time amended, shall be posted at the bureau.
